Take a Spin around Sheffield !

Sheffield UK, 24th May 2005. Spin Sheffield is officially launched to an invited group of Sheffield’s key business people.
Spin Sheffield has been designed using the latest 360 virtual tour technology to give visitors a fully immersive 360 degree tour of the City of Sheffield. The site is designed to relate crucial information about tourist attractions, hotels, conference venues, sport, leisure and entertainment venues, bars, restaurants and night clubs to potential visitors by the use of 360 virtual tour images, interactive maps with location hot-spots and professional audio narration.
David Roberts, Director of Spin Guide, said: ‘The goal is simple - to totally immerse an on-line visitor in Sheffield before they even get there, making sure that what they see is exactly what they will get, and more importantly, allowing them to decide exactly where they would like to visit in Sheffield, which conference venues to hold meetings at, which restaurants to reserve tables for, which hotels to stay in, which bars they would like to meet their friends in…in fact, the list is endless, if it’s a business or attraction in Sheffield, then it can be explored at SPINSHEFFIELD.COM’
The Spin Sheffield initiative is supported by a partnership of key agencies in the city including Sheffield City Council, Sheffield First For Investment, Sheffield International Venues, The Showroom and Workstation and Sheffield Galleries and Museums Trust. A number of key venues are already on board.
David Fletcher, Investment & Marketing Director for Sheffield First for Investment, said: ‘A key factor in attracting quality people, with appropriate skills to support the continued growth of Sheffield's economy, is the excellent quality of life that the City has to offer. As an effective way of promoting the wide range of cultural, leisure and conference facilities in the City, Sheffield First for Investment is delighted to be able to support the Spin Sheffield initiative’
Inga Uhrenbacher, Director of Toursim for Sheffield City Council, said: Spin Sheffield is an innovative and informative tool which helps us take our cultural, leisure and conference product directly to visitors and conference organisers. It enhances our tourism promotions and is an invaluable resource at trade shows. As people continue to access more and more information via the internet, we are delighted to be working closely with Silverworks on this exciting project.
