Mothers are beautiful people in every way. They bring us up. They nourish us. They give us life. They are our inspiration, and they make the world a better place.
And every mom has a story. Every mom experiences unparalleled joy, and every mom needs a little help to get through the day. SilverWorks shares these stories with all of you, and hopefully, we’re able to provide a little inspiration along the way.
- What is the best thing about being a mom?
The best thing about being a mom is I finally understood unconditional love. It’s a love like no other I’ve ever experienced before becoming a mother. It’s unwavering, powerful, and selfless. It’s a love without limitations, boundaries, or conditions. It’s a love that’s instinctual and eternal. It’s not always easy, and it’s not always sunshine and roses. Sometimes it’s raw and exposed. But it’s in those murky times—the times we love our children when it’s hard or when it hurts or when it feels unrewarding—that exposes a beautiful bond that can only be described as “Divine.”
- What is the most challenging but rewarding thing as a mom?
Nothing else can produce the joy or broken heart that motherhood allows. I couldn’t imagine going through life without feeling that spectrum of emotions. There are wonderful days when I feel my cup runneth over. There are days that I want to run away and question every decision I have ever made. Feeling it all, good or bad, gives my life purpose. Motherhood is walking around with all of your nerve endings raw and exposed. It is the most extreme measure of being alive.
- What advice will you give your son or daughter that you best believe will guide him or her as he/she courses through life?
The best advice I would want to give and remind my child every single day is whatever you do, whatever happens, you are already 100% perfect. There is nothing you have to do to prove that you are enough. You don’t have to prove it to anybody. Because you are already enough. In the world, you will encounter difficult tasks to master and people who want to challenge you. You can take these challenges and give your best, but whatever happens, they will never have the power to decrease your self-worth in any way. When you know your true self, you realize this fact as truth.
- What is the fondest memory you have of your Mom growing up?
I have so many nice memories of my mother. She spent a lot of time with us, playing games outside and singing at the piano. She took good care of me when I was sick. I guess my fondest memory is coming home after school or work and talking with her, perhaps while helping with the dishes. I’d tell her about my day. She was a good listener.
- What is the best advice your Mom has ever given you?
The best advice I ever got from my mom is to rely on nobody except yourself. That is why everyone, especially women, MUST be financially, spiritually, physically, and mentally strong so they can fend for themselves under any circumstance.
- What message do you wish you could tell your mom or your child every day?
I wish to tell my mom and my child every day that there are going to be times when we won’t have a lot of friends. But mom is always gonna be my friend. Always.
